The concept of the Trinity in Christianity refers to the belief that there is one God in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is equal in essence and co-eternal, but they have distinct roles and responsibilities within the Godhead. This doctrine, while central to Christian theology, remains a mystery that is beyond human comprehension and can only be fully understood through faith.

Bart B. Ehrman illuminates the history of the Trinity through the ages.
